The Zoo

Today we took a chance and went to the zoo. The sky was overcast and there was about a 40% chance of thunderstorms, but we went anyway. There was no one there. It was really quite nice. We had ever exhibit to ourselves. Being that it was overcast, it was cool too.

One of my favorites were the flamingos. I just love the color. So beautiful.

Quinn loved the Emu's and tried to play with them. I attempted to get a picture of them together but it didn't really turn out.

This is me in the tiger habitat. Really cool and big habitat but it made it really hard to actually see the tiger.

Quinn also at one point thought he was a panda and started munching on the bamboo.
Our favorite exhibit was the otter outpost. They were so cool. They came right over when Quinn whistled at them and just swam and played with each other right in front of us. It was very cool to see how they moved through the water.

Devry...with your head in the tiger's mouth no wonder you had trouble seeing them. And tell Quinn that if he loves bamboo so much he can come munch on ours and keep it back to a workable mass...er, mess...no mass, whatever, both words work. You both look so wonderful. Keep posting pictures b/c we love to see you. Looks like you have been having a great week.

Sounds like a perfect day to me! Maybe you should top it off with some cheesecake!

When looking at those flamingos the "Mr. Stand-on-one-leg" song comes to mind. I'm sure no one else knows this song, and I barely remember it myself, from some tape of children's songs. Maybe Mom remembers.

The zoo looks so fun. And all this cheesecake you two eat sure makes a person jealous. So glad that Quinn is on break and you are having so much fun!

Did they tell you that in Texas a 40% chance of rain means that it will rain 40% of the day? You were lucky for it to be just overcast! Loved the pictures!
