Here they are. I also almost posted Jeff's salsa recipe but since he says I've already given it to every ward cookbook along the wasatch front, I held back.

living the dream

Quinn told me I am living my dream. He calls it my HGTV/Food Network Dream. This week has consisted of helping my mom make-over rooms in the house. I'm having so much fun meeting with contractors to come up with ideas for a kitchen +more renovation. We have another appointment on Monday that I'm very excited about.

Also, tonight my mom, Dana and I had the opportunity to host a baby shower for my cousin Kenzie. My mom let me handle the food. Below are a few delights.

Antipasto Kabobs

Asian Chicken Salad Won tons

Turkey Wraps--Thanks to Dana for helping a sister out and making these

Apple Brie Pizza (my favorite of the night)

Tomato and Avocado Bruschetta

Herb-stuffed Mushrooms (again courtesy of Dana)

And last but not least...

My mom made these delicious vanilla cupcakes with strawberry frosting.

It was such a fun night and I always love when I get an opportunity to pretend I'm a caterer.

team carlisle?

For those of you who have read the first three books in the Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer, you will know there is a fierce battle raging between Team Edward and Team Jacob. Even though certain members of my family threaten to disown me I faithfully reside on Team Jacob (I have many reasons as to why this is the better choice for Bella that I won't get into here). But I have to say after my sister Stacey showed me this picture yesterday, I think I might start a new team --Team Carlisle.

For those of you not in the know, Carlisle is to the right of Edward (center of the picture). Hello? A blonde Peter Facinelli--I'm loving it.

I also have to say that when the announcement first came out for the casting of Edward, I decided to withhold judgement. Even though Robert Pattinson was not my vision for Edward I thought they might be able to pull it off with the right styling etc...however judging from these photos from the set, I think I am not going to love this casting choice at all.

my very own hashmarks

Quinn is "live-blogging" his trip to San Francisco to attend Game Developers Conference for me. And by "live-blogging" I mean he is calling me every hour or so to update me on what he is experience and any major happenings. He says it is my very own Hashmarks--a live blog I was addicted to during the NFL playoffs. So far I think he has been in San Fran about 2 and 1/2 hours and I have heard from him 3 times. His last "blog entry" was all about he had walked all the way to the conference center just to realize that he left his expo ticket at the hotel and had to go back to get it.

I can't wait for other exciting entries throughout the next three days.

***UPDATE***

Quinn has been networking like crazy. He was able to make two VERY good contacts at the two companies he would die to work for. Also, he said he managed to snag an invite to a VIP party tomorrow night. Every time I talk to him, I can tell he is having the time of his life.

makeover

My blog needs a makeover. I have been wanting to do it for a while now. I think I know what the new template will be and I need to brush up on my photoshop skills and make a new banner (or ask Ryan to help me). But most importantly, I want a new blog address.

Truth be told, I did not even create this blog. My friend that I use to work with did. At the time, it was just going to be used for engagement stuff. Who knew it would go on for two years.

So I'm soliciting help to come up with a new blog address. I've been thinking about it for a while now but can not come up with anything that I love.

Any ideas?

Share anything and everything as I'm hoping something will spark an idea.

v-day recap

Happy Valentine's Day!

Quinn was able to be home by five o'clock today so we could spend the evening together. I made him a spaghetti dinner. For dessert, I made one of his favorite desserts--tres leches cake. What do you think?

For never having made it, I thought it turned out pretty well.

Afterward, we went to see the movie Definitely, Maybe. I have to say, I didn't love. And I really wanted to love. Even if you can get past all of the pro-Clinton/anti-Bush propoganda that they shove down your throats (which has no place in a romantic comedy in my opinion), it is still a slightly depressing story which only mildly redeems itself in the end. Quinn commented that the pacing of the movie was like a "death march". He disliked it a lot more than I did.

I also made Quinn take a picture of us to commemorate the day. Here we are in all our Valentine's Day glory.

fun, fun, fun

I've been having so much fun here in Texas. Too much fun to take time to blog. My Mom flew in on Wednesday to spend time basking in the warm Texas weather. We watched a lot of movies-- Juno, 27 Dresses, National Treasure: Book of Secrets, Tara Road and The Ring (we made my Mom watch it last night).

We did A LOT of shopping. My mom bought two amazing ties for Quinn.

What do you think?

I really am in love with them.

Thanks mom for coming. We had so much fun with you here.

amazing

GIANTS WIN!!!

Patriots 18-1. Love it!

not loving the snow

It is 6:50 in the morning right now and I'm suppose to be well on my way to the airport to catch a flight to DFW. Unfortunately, I got the automated call at 5:30 am that my flight was canceled.

I'm sitting here hoping that I get on the 10 am flight because the 1:30 pm flight gets in during the Super Bowl and I just don't think Quinn would be too happy about that.
